An Art Deco 1920s Egyptian Revival bracelet with a sarcophagus and lotus column motif in white and turquoise enamel. After the discovery of King Tutankhamun\'s tomb by Howard Carter in 1922, public appetite for Ancient Egyptian cultural symbols was insatiable. Archaeological discoveries, as well as the building of the Suez Canal and (a generation earlier) Napoleon\'s campaigns in Egypt, encouraged a literacy in Ancient Egyptian culture among Europeans and Americans that continued into the 1970s. This bracelet would have been absolutely \"on trend\" and treasured as a special piece of jewelry to a lovely lady in the 1920s or 1930s. Marked for 800 silver. Some wear to the enamel consistent with age, but overall condition is very good and colors are vibrant! Closes securely with a simple hook clasp. Measurements: 7\" x 3/4\"Era: 1920sMarkings: 800 for 800/1000 or \"Continental\" silver
