6.75\" Gary Reeves (1962-2014) Navajo heavy stamped silver and turquoise bracelet21mm wide in center.Navajo silversmith Gary Reeves was born in 1962 in Gallup, N.M. and died July2014. He began silver work in 1974.He was the older brother of renowned silversmith Sunshine Reeves and the youngerbrother of David Reeves (now no longer with us), who was so instrumental inteaching the craft to both Gary and Sunshine, as well as their half-brothersDarrel and Andy Cadman.While each artist has his own individual style, they all share an affinity forcomplex engraved and hand stamped geometric designs and they are all a part ofrecreating and popularizing the old Navajo designs of the early 20th century.They call their style Navajo Revival Style.He filled his old style silver with lots of stamp patterns and used high qualitypieces of turquoise. Gary smithed silver from the age of twelve. His work, likethat of his brother Sunshine, is present in the collections of the Heard Museumin Phoenix and Gary has won numerous awards for his work.All precious metals are tested and guaranteed, any Native American jewelryreferred to as Silver or Sterling is guaranteed to be a minimum of 90% (coin)silver and possibly higher content. Anything marked is guaranteed to be whatit\'s marked, most bracelets are photographed on a 6\" wrist (non hairy), ringsphotographed on the appropriate sized finger when possible. With bracelets ifthe measurement is not given in the description then inside circumference isshown where the metal meets the number on the the cloth tape measure.
