HOT ! Echinacea Coneflower Vase Necklace

Echinacea comes from the Greek word echinos, which means hedgehog. This refers to the flower\'s spiky, cone-shaped center. I think that is the best way to name a plant. By what adorable animal it resembles. I created this coneflower vase necklace because they are one of the most beloved flowers in my native garden. It seems to attract everyone! These plants that are in the daisy family are also medicinal. They are used for many different things but my favorite is helping to strengthen my immune system and healing me when I have a cold or the flu. So, pretty, beneficial to our native pollinators, and good for us!

The vase including the handle and three loops that hold it onto a necklace measures about 2.75 inches tall. Just the vase itself measures about 1.75 inches tall. It is about 1.25 inches across at the widest point. It will come on a removable sterling silver necklace that is 18 inches long. A little rose cut purple amethyst sits at the top of the vase. Amethyst is February\'s birthstone. The back of the vase has been given a leaf pattern using a real lead and at the top is my maker\'s mark of Max the cat. 

These vases are not meant to hold water because they are made from sterling silver. The water will tarnish your silver and will make you wet. Not fun at all! But, there are so many things you can put into your vase. Even in the dead of winter in Massachusetts I found so many pretty twigs and long past flowers and ferns to add to my vase. Red twig dogwood and blueberry bushes are the most beautiful bright red over the winter! A little houseplant sprig, some ferns, and it will be fun to search around your local flower shop to find small flowers that would look perfect in your vase! Dried lavender is a favorite because it is not only beautiful but smells wonderful! A pleasant way to make you take pause and breathe deeply.
